Frequently Asked Questions

Answers before you ask

The questions guests ask most often about booking, staying and spending a day at Murkannu Valley.

Booking & reservations

How do I book a stay?

Use the booking form on the homepage, call or WhatsApp us directly, or send a full enquiry through the Contact page. Our team confirms availability and gets back to you with the next steps.

Is there a minimum number of guests for a booking?

Yes. Couple and deluxe rooms and tents need a minimum of 2 guests, and dormitories need a minimum of 4. Day outing bookings also have a minimum group size, confirmed when you enquire.

What are the check-in and check-out times?

Check-in is at 12:30 PM and check-out is at 11:00 AM. Early check-in or late check-out can sometimes be arranged, ask our team when you book.

Do I need to pay in advance to confirm my booking?

Most bookings are confirmed with an advance payment, with the balance settled at check-in. Our team will share the exact amount and payment options when you book.

Stay & property

Is Wi-Fi available?

Wi-Fi is available in the common areas. Being deep in a forest valley, network coverage can be patchy in parts of the property, which is usually part of the appeal.

Is parking available on site?

Yes, free on-site parking is available for all guests for the duration of their stay.

Are children welcome?

Yes, Murkannu Valley is family-friendly. A few water and adventure activities have age or supervision guidelines, which our team will walk you through on arrival.

Can you accommodate pets?

Please check with our team before bringing a pet, since some areas of the property are close to the forest edge and local wildlife.

Activities & experiences

Do I need to book activities like the water zip line or kayaking in advance?

It helps to mention your interests when you book, since some activities depend on daylight, group size and water levels. Our team schedules the day once you arrive.

Is the private waterfall accessible to every guest?

Yes, a guided walk to the waterfall is part of most stays. In heavy monsoon the route is sometimes limited for safety, which our on-ground team will advise on.

What should I pack?

Comfortable walking shoes, a change of clothes for water activities, and light rain gear if you're visiting between June and September.

Food & dietary requests

What kind of food is served?

Home-style Western Ghats cooking: banana-leaf thalis, filter coffee, and a bonfire barbecue dinner on clear evenings. See the Restaurant page for the full spread.

Can you accommodate dietary requirements?

Yes. Vegetarian, Jain and allergy-specific requests are accommodated when shared in advance, so the kitchen can plan ahead.

What's your cancellation policy?

Full terms are on our Booking & Cancellation Policy page. If you have a specific date change in mind, message our team directly and we'll work it out with you.

Still have a question?

Our team is quick to reply on WhatsApp and happy to help you plan the details.
